Bloem Tour
Advantage T.A. took 13 pupils down to Bloemfontein for the Grand Prix Junior Nationals. Our pupils performed well but it was
evident that the top juniors in the country are spending lots of time training, playing matches and being focused on working
towards their tennis goals. A player needs to play a regular amount of tournaments each holiday in order to be ready for the
toughest test at the Nationals. Veronique showed great potential in beating the No 23, 20 and 14 U14 girls in the country in
the Grand Prix back draw. It was a wonderful team building trip and we all shared some wonderful moments. The quote of
the week was "Why aren’t there any Mrs Video shops anywhere" (funny at the time). We are looking forward to taking more
kids to more tournaments next year.
Christmas Party
The end of the year is approaching with great speed and Randburg T.C. will be holding an end of year party for all Adv T.A.
pupils and their parents. On Saturday 27th Nov at 19h30 there will be a Christmas dinner and party especially for the adults.
Tickets are R65.00 per head, children u/12 half price and need to be purchased from Gareth by 18 Nov. On Sunday 28th Nov
there will be a party/ magic show for all 10 year olds and under at the club house from 10.00am until 11.30am.
On Fri 12th Nov at 19h00 Adv T.A. will be having an Adventure Golf outing for all pupils at the Brightwater Commons.

Holiday activities
In the Dec holidays Advantage T.A. will be holding a Sportsmania, mini mania and a tennis tournament ,
mini tennis tournament at the Old Parktonians Sports Club. In January there will be a tennis tournament at the
Randburg Tennis Club. The dates and times are as follows.

Coaching Exams
On Sat 30th Oct Gareth will be examining the coaches doing their Instructor and Professional coaching exams.
Rachelle will be doing his lessons that Saturday.
Payments and holidays
Just a reminder to parents that our fees are structured over a twelve month period. The total
amount for the year has been divided into twelve equal payments throughout the year. Included
in this payment is entrance to all Advantage T.A. tournaments and sportsmania events held during
the school holidays. Pupils involved in our performer programmes also fall into this structure. Those
involved in performer programmes with private lessons will be contacted by their coach in order to
arrange lessons during the holiday periods. From Jan 5th 2005 your coaches will start arranging
lessons for those involved. The January tournament starts on the 5th Jan and then normal group
classes will begin on the 12th Jan 2005. Regarding finances we would like to ask that all
outstanding fees be paid by 7th December and would like to remind you that your December
invoice will also include your January fee and we would appreciate it if a post dated cheque for
January could be forwarded with your fees or that an electronic payment be made for the
2nd January 2005. This will ensure that your place in your class is kept for you. Our 2005 class
time structure will remain the same however we will inform you of any new classes that are
introduced in the future. Pupils involved in private lessons will continue in the same time slot
next year unless prearranged by the pupil’s parents.
Exams!!!
Good Luck to all those who will be writing exams, especially those in matric at the end of the
year. We hope that you all study hard and get the results you deserve. Remember to plan your
study schedule around your tennis lessons. A break for some fresh air and exercise will give you
an opportunity to relax and get your mind off your books.
Rankings
In the latest senior rankings list our very own Rachelle Dennett reached her highest ever career
singles ranking of 14, Gareth also reached his highest ranking of 21 and Corne’ is ranked 22.
