Aussie Open

The Australian Open is celebrating its centenary year and the players favorite Grand Slam tournament is turning into a true spectacle.
The heat has been difficult to play in and on one occasion the roof of the centre court stadium was closed to make the playing
conditions more bearable. Federer destroyed Agassi in the quarter-finals but lost to Safin in a nail biting semi-final. Safin played an amazing
match to avenge last years final defeat at the hands of Federer. He now meets Hewitt or Roddick in the final. The ladies finals will be
between Serena Williams and Lindsay Davenport, make sure you watch the finals.

Farewell Corne’

It is with sadness that we have to let you know that Corne’ will be leaving us. Corne’ joined Advantage T.A. in Feb 2004 and has been

would like to thank him for all he has done for the students and the club and wish him all the best for the future. His enthusiasm, presence

TR3

All Advantage T.A. pupils are encouraged to join the TR3 tennis family. TR3 is an umbrella organization that is pulling all South African
tennis players from enthusiasts, juniors, seniors, veterans, professionals, and coaches together. As members you will receive a membership
card, quarterly tennis magazine, a monthly information e-mail, a world wide tennis rating and access to play in tournaments nationwide
as well as discounts from various shops. The cost is R120 per year and this membership will hopefully help each person understand where
they fit into tennis in S.A. and see where they can go if they are prepared to work hard on the court. Your coaches are all members and
would encourage you to do the same.
